I'm Not Dead.

I've taken a much needed break from the blogosphere over the last few (50ish) days but wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive! A blogger sent me a message which simply read, "Are you Okay?" Yes, I'm OK. I'm alive. Just seriously busy being a mom, wife, chauffeur, pest control (yes, pest control-bug killer. You see, we are living in a house now with a back yard and we have little critters that have found their way into our home. Just this morning my precious Elle dismembered a cockroach.... (we have to get a bug guy!) So I'm on the phone with a friend chatting away for a few sacred moments before one of my children jumped off of a piece of furniture and broke their face or crapped on my floor (yes, both of them simultaneously took a dump on the floor one morning, that was fun times. Conrad has since learned how to use to potty!) So I look over this morning while I was on the phone (ignoring my kids for a few short minutes, awesome parenting right?) and see half of a cockroach on the floor, still moving it's little arms, the other half being chomped on by my dear sweet 11 month old.... It was like slow motion, "ElllllllLLLLLEEEEeeeeE NoooOOOooo! Gross!" and I bravely squealed like a little girl & scooped that roach from her darling baby lips. Gag. I've fished two rollie pollie's out of her mouth since we've moved in. The third time I caught her with a rollie pollie, I just said screw it, you can have it. It's good protein. So yeah, we need a bug man like, stat.

We've been LOV-ing our home. Having a back yard to let the kids play in has been so wonderful. The kids seem to be sleeping better here, it's been incredibly peaceful, our neighbors are super sweet and have each been living here for 20 years. The one guy, Gene is 90 and he hangs his old man tighty whities out back and brings us brownies. My other neighbor apparently doesn't own shirts. He's always tending to his flowers shirtless. Whatever, I like it. Just live your life, shirtless or not.

I've been working non-stop (thank you, Jesus.) It has been a huge blessing to get the creative juices flowing and photographing lots! I have 8 sessions to post on my blog, boy am I behind on updating my blog. My life has been late nights working and hanging with the babes during the day.

Life has been so good though. I can't wait to share with all of you ladies all of the great things God has been doing. It's been a season of growth and maturity, of growing pains and trials that have stretched us further than we ever knew we could be stretched. God is good, even when the circumstances are less than favorable. {More on this later.}

For now, a sneak preview of our family photos with my dearest darling face, {Bobbie} AND some beautiful babies + their moms that I shot recently for the Nevada Breastfeeds calendar.

More blogging and photos of the new digs coming shortly.

  6. I don't have a huge list of 'mom blogs,' so it was easy for me to see your new post pop up. And I'm so glad it did. There's just something about you and your sweet family that has me cheering for you. Elliot has gotten so big! Take as long as a break you need from blogging (not that you asked for my permission, lol), but know that you are an encouragement to others. So glad you're doing well~

  10. I assume you meant me above with the 'are you okay?'? Haha trust me i couldve gone on like: are the kids okay? Did something happen? I bet something awful happened!! Did something happen to the kids? Or to you? Or to your husband? Please tell me nothing bad happened to you and your family!
    But thanks for getting back..ive never met you and probably never will, but i've read your blog for a long time now and so its not very easy to get in touch or to check whether everything is ok or not and you got me worried (stalker much? ;) ). But im happy to read another entry and to get the joy to see some pictures..so thanks that made my eve :)

  11. Hey CatDee! ;) Thanks for the message and kind words! You are a sweet lady. I don't think you are a stalker at all. I've got a few blog friends that I feel like i'm pretty stalkerish with. I get so invested in their lives and get to know them, they start becoming real friends, so i understand! Sometimes with this blogging stuff, you wonder if you have anything relevant to offer to the world. i didn't have much to say and was busy, so i kept it quiet. ;)

    A friend of mine told me once that you can't have it all. You can't have a photography business, be the wife to your husband-wholeheartedly trying to meet his needs and be the type of mom who sacrifices her wants (blogging, working out, doing things for them rather than for serving myself when they deserve my attention etc). You can't have it all. So pick what matters the most and invest in that because everything else will surly fade away one day and what better to invest in than your family.

    Again, thank you for the message. Thank you for reading along.

  14. Yes I understand..my own blog is pretty much abandoned (I used to write on wordpress)..I never really get around to put things down and its set on private anyway as some people I study with went a bit over the top over-analysing my entries.
    But in my eyes a blog is just like a diary and you cant only have good days and it always helped me to write things down to clear my head.
    Anyway thanks for your reply and I totally understand where you're coming from (trust me if I had kids (that sweet) and a husband I'd rather spend time with them :) than thinking about blogging).
    Have a great day!
