Fall Fashion: Halloween Baby Shower Edition

I wore this dress to my friend Sofia's baby shower. The shower was a Halloween theme, so I thought that orange was appropriate. I set up a back drop and had a basket of costumes for people to put on to take some fun pictures in. I think everyone had a good time.
I am wearing:
Dress & necklace: Anthropologie (Mom's)
sweater& belt: f21
Boots: Banana Republic- Buffalo Exchange

Fall Fashion: My mom-iform

 I woke up early to run. It was beautiful out.
Dustins' a hater on the neon green 80's running pants....
I don't feel particularly "cute" in these pants, but they get the job done and they're comfortable.
There are probably more days in my week that I stay in comfy clothes like these and don't put a stitch of make up on, OR lipstick, than get fancy with my outfits!
I call this my mom-iform...
(Pants: American Eagle, tank: Target, Running shoes: Mizuno wave runner 6)

Conrad has been very needy the last few days and won't leave my side for a minute.
I think the molars are coming in....

Then I came home, showered, made us some breakfast in this:
(Sweater: Buffalo Exchange, purple shirt & jeans: Express, Apron: thrifted)

After that, we went to Trader Joe's and got us some pumpkins to carve!!!

I wore my brown jacket from Ann Taylor and Conrad wore his sweater with the horses on it from my mom (anthropologie). He took his basketball with him and wouldn't let go of it to save his life.

{Happy Fall Fashion!}

Fall Fashion: Friday

I kind of feel like my mom has inspired or impacted every aspect of what
"fashion" means to me today.

When I was a kid I thought her need to be "put together" was silly, or that she acted "too pretty" with her lip stick and high heels, but now that I'm all grown up, those same high heels and bright lips makes me feel EMPOWERED! It makes me feel like a woman to wear lipstick. So honestly, everything "fashionable" about me, is due to my mother because she has never been able to fit into any kind of box, she has never "gone along with the trends" she just wears what she likes and she always looks cute. So cheers to you mom. I am often times jealous of the outfits you manage to put together.

You're cute mom. I like shopping with you and I'll admit, you're WAY more fashionable than I am.
I said it... Get over yourself. You're probably reading this smiling.
I am wearing:
Bird sweater: Anthropologie- gift from Mom
Shirt: Polo-thrifted
Skirt- American Eagle-thrifted
Tights-gap
Boots-Nordstrom rack
Scarf-Buffalo Exchange

We went to the Post office, thrift store in search of a big black sheet, and got some lunch in this outfit.
THEN when we got home and I threw these clothes off and put on my sweats and hoodie.
When we were visiting friends in Texas a few months ago, they pointed out that every time we went somewhere,
I put on my outfit and then when we got home, I changed into something comfortable.
DOES ANYONE ELSE DO THIS OR AM I THE ONLY IDIOT WHO
CHANGES CLOTHES MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY????
When I'm at home, I wear PJ'S but if I have to go somewhere or have a guest over, I change into appropriate clothes.
 Is this normal? (please tell me someone else does this too...)

Here are a few pics of my little man sandwich from this past week.
We had another play date at the pumpkin patch and he rode another really fun ride.
 Smiles and clapping to prove how fun it was!

Conrad enjoying his sea weed snack on the ride....

{Happy Friday!}

Plate Wall.....

Yes, My kitchen is Ninja Turtle Green.... and I LOVE it. So there.
I've gotten a few emails recently asking how the plates are hung. I used adhesive discs. The 4" disc
can support a plate up to 6lbs. They have little metal hooks so they're easy to hang, and the discs come right off with hot water! I got them at Hobby Lobby.
The small ones were 1.99, the large ones were 2.99
I got this plate with the two birds at the thrift store. I love it.

 The red plates were birthday gifts from my Mom.
She got them at an antique store in Boulder City.
 (I got an email about my gothic-shabby chic chandelier recently also.
It was purchased a few years ago at an antique store for 45.00 marked down from 199.99)
The plates were purchased at various thrift stores.
 I am leaving room on the wall for more treasures and beautiful plates!
The Most expensive plate was 9.00, least expensive plate was .69

Oh how I love a good deal!

AND for your listening pleasure, I give to you Chromeo.
This is the first song I listen to on my early morning runs
and believe me, I sing every single word. Love him.

Fall Fashion: A Day At The Carnival

What I'm really wearing today: abercrombie sweats and a hoodie sweat shirt.
I was up late last night working and I'm planning on having a no make up, dirty hair-lazy day today.
BUT, I would love to show you what I wore for our family photos a few weeks ago!!!!
I really tried to edit these down and just pick a few.....
This was pretty much my dream photo session. I'd been wanting to do photos at a carnival for months. My friend Bobbie and I had talked about taking a little trip to Logan dale for the big fair they hold each year, but when I saw this little one by our house, I called her and she came along to shoot these for us. She's amazing. I was most excited to ride the Farris wheel but I knew that Conrad might get antsy, so I brought along my secret weapon BUBBLES! I'm glad I had them because he DID in fact get antsy.

I am wearing:
Skirt: Anthropologie- It's My Mom's....she's got great taste in clothes.
Thanks mom! <3
Shirt: H&M
Shoes: Nine West

{We hadn't gotten our photos done in a LONG time, so it was fun to do this and I can't wait to get some of these printed out and hung on the wall! Thank you again, Bobbie. You do incredible work. There's something special about having your photo taken by a good friend. It's like, they "get" you, or know you. We had the same vision. I love her art. I never know what to expect-and that's what makes it so magical and fun.}
On the Farris wheel
The boys are wearing:
Dustin: Express & Hush Puppies
Conrad: Shirt-Target, Tie & Shorts- thrifted, Shoes H&M.

{Happy Fall}
