Telling Conrad to "Put your finger in the mouse's butt hole!" at story time. How else do you explain to a toddler how to use a puppet?! When I realized what I had said, I looked around the room real quick realizing that the other parents had gotten really quiet after hearing me say, "butt hole" to my son. Everyone pretended not to hear me (appreciate it, mom's & Dad's at story time who don't use such words in public....). I told Dustin about my story time foot-in-the-mouth experience and he began to list off all of the other MORE APPROPRIATE terms for butt hole. Thanks honey. I feel like a friggin' idiot.
Ahem, our son has fully grasped the art of eating like a big boy instead of flinging
apple sauce at my walls...He seems to be eating a lot better now that he can stab stuff.
{The Bat Man pj's have a detachable cape that goes on the back. I got them at the thrift store
when he was a baby.... I love watching him run around the house with his cool Bat Man cape flapping behind him.
He is irresistible in them.}
While maybe there are more socially acceptable ways to say that, it's what it is, no?
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, my boss is mortified because her 2 yr old has taken to mimicking her mother by saying "oh shiiiit" all the time. And for some reason in a Minnesotan accent. It's actually kind of adorable if it wasnt for the not wanting to teach your kids bad words and junk.
Oh man! He's cute! That may be me saying "butt hole" in public to my baby. I say stuff before my brain can tell me not to say it!
